Quick thought
Sept 24/25/24
I went to the temple right before coming to BYU. For me, I felt that the emphasis on “multiply and replenish” was especially important, as if the Spirit was prompting me to prepare to find someone I could multiply and replenish with. After spending a few weeks here at BYU, I went back to the temple this past weekend. This time, the phrase “multiply and replenish” stood out to me in a different way.
I realized that Adam and Eve were commanded to multiply and replenish *before* they left the Garden of Eden. This suggests that we do not have to be married or have children to become fully developed human beings. While those things are necessary to complete us, at this point in my life, I feel the need to focus on multiplying my talents and replenishing the world around me rather than simply taking. Have I fulfilled the measure of my creation?
This realization brought me comfort, especially as I take time to work through my own traumas before entering another relationship.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
